Sydney Ports Corporation operates the Realtime Oceanographic Data
Information System (RODIS) network to provide real time meteorological and
oceanographic information to commercial port users. The general public are able
to access this site, which may assist with the planning of recreational water
activities, including fishing and boating.
RODIS has been developed to support safe and efficient navigation and maritime
operations, and the data collected assists Sydney Ports maintain and develop
maritime infrastructure.
Wave, wind and tide recordings are taken from sensors located off and within Port
Botany and Sydney Harbour.
